The objective of the study is to evaluate the effect of TNF inhibition on carotid thickness over a 2-year period. 144 women with RA diagnosed according to ACR criteria, without clinical evidence of cardiac and/or vascular disease were enrolled and compared with 78 matched controls. All patients received methotrexate (15–20 mg weekly) for 3 months. Responders (n = 79) continued to be treated with methotrexate, non-responders (n = 40) moved to methotrexate plus a TNF alpha antagonist. Abstract The main objective of the present study was to analyse the role of the ego-dystonicity and ego-syntonicity of eating disorder intrusive thoughts (EDITs) in the genesis and maintenance of eating disorders (EDs). Participants were 98 female patients with EDs, 56 Spanish and 42 English (27.19±9.59 years; body mass index (BMI): 18.72±2.87). A 1-year follow-up study was carried out in 77 patients with panic attacks (panic disorder). Of these patients 43% were remitted; avoidance behaviour and chronic anxiety were more persistent than panic attacks within the 1-year period. The main predictor for features of anxiety in the follow-up was avoidance behaviour. The most prominent prognostic factor for features of depression was the history of previous depressive episodes. Female patients had a poorer outcome than male patients.

We describe three female patients in a family of two generations, who suffered from generalized and maximally pea-sized histiocytic tumors beginning in early adolescence. The disease ran a uniform and slowly progressive course and was confined to the skin. There were no signs of spontaneous tumor regression. Histologic, immunohistochemical, and ultrastructural examination revealed the histiocytic nature of the tumors. An outstanding finding was a marked production of mucinous material, predominantly in long-standing tumors. The Italian Registry of Off-Therapy patients after childhood tumors now includes 760 subjects with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. These patients were all removed from treatment by December 31, 1981, and were followed in 35 different institutions. All the children have received multiple-drug treatment, combined, in 79.7% of the cases, with cranial irradiation. Thirty-nine (5%) experienced a relapse before treatment suspension. Total duration of antileukemic therapy ranges between 18 and 131 months (median, 38). At the last updating (December 31, 1981), 699 subjects were alive, 6 were lost to follow-up, and 55 had died. Purpose To report for the first time a clinical case of suprachoroidal bleeding after XEN45 gel implantation. Observations A 84-year old female patient with pseudoexfoliation glaucoma with intraocular pressure (IOP) (20 mm Hg) above target despite maximal IOP-lowering therapy was scheduled for XEN45 gel implantation. The XEN45 gel implantation went without complications and was properly placed in the anterior chamber and beneath the conjunctiva. On the first postoperative day, the patient presented with an IOP of 4 mm Hg, a functioning bleb and a deep anterior chamber. On the second day she developed suprachoroidal bleeding.
